Yeah he does beautiful work. Considering all labor that goes into those, the price is not as outrageous as it seems. That's a LOT of hours of skilled labor.
Want to make a pair yourself? You can. Just follow this thread:

YOu could even use heavy paper or card stock.

Yes GM, Just trying to get him in the ballpark or close I was basing those measurements on the model 19 cab.Once there he can always tune the box.
Pano, Yes they are quite Awesome he does beautiful work. What's even cooler he constructs them in his living room after all cuts have been made.Limit the hrs. in the cold garage/shop. ;)

His 1505's go for over $2800. YIKES, I don't want them that bad...
I've got a line on a pair of 1505's with single throats for $1500 but he doesn't want to be bothered with the shipping and they are half way across the country damn.:khan: seems like there is alot of that going around these days. or don't need the money enough.:laffingassoff:

The M19 is ~8.3535 ft^3 net and theoretically tuned a bit lower, though its generally leaky construction will raise it somewhat, especially over time if not gasketed and its hardware periodically tightened. IME though, ~7.5 ft^3 is fine if sealed as Altec recommended, but vented needs to be > 10 ft^3 for adequate tuning flexibility, so I guess we'll have to 'agree to disagree'. ;)

As Always though GM I'll defer to your opinion as I value it more than most. :2thumbsup: ;) :D
Re: Altec LF Enclosure Plans on Pdf.
AB,
Where do you consider half way across the country? I live in Ohio, that's half way across the country, IMO. If not too far I could consider a drive to pick them up. I'm sure they would complete my system at whatever size I determine to be the optimum size.
I will need to do more research to determine that. Man, ain't this fun?
Re: Altec LF Enclosure Plans on Pdf.
$1500 for the pair is typical form what I've seen over the years. The 500Hz horns seem to go for about $50 a cell.
I'd Looooove to have a pair of 1505s.
Re: Altec LF Enclosure Plans on Pdf.

Try living on the other side of the world and collecting Altec stuff.
I've encountered some complete a$#hol*s who refuse point blank to ship anywhere beyond 'the lower 48'.
Thankfully those charmers lose out now as I can buy from GPA!
